Goodwill provides both retail and mission services. Mission services in Fort Dodge include the Youth Employment Services (YES), Community Based Employment Services, and the Ticket-to-Work Program. Each program provides employment services to individuals with disabilities.
Opportunity Village, based in Clear Lake, provides and supports services to individuals with disabilities, of all ages, throughout northern Iowa. Northwoods Living, a service of Opportunity Village, concentrates on the Fort Dodge area. Additional services, such as the Children’s Autism Center, are available through Opportunity Village.
Rabiner Treatment Center provides a full continuum of services for the youth they serve. Their programming, which includes residential and non-residential care, is geared to meet a wide variety of client needs. Core services include on-campus education; individual, family and group counseling; skill development; vocational training; community volunteerism and community service and restitution. Non-residential programs include an alternative school suspension center, GED, vocational training, placement for children needing a more structured school environment. Their program employs cognitive restructuring and skill development to help youth focus on identifying and changing irresponsible thinking patterns. With a comprehensive continuum of treatment services that support safety, permanency and well-being, their evidence-based cognitive/behavioral approach reinforces pro-social behaviors.
The Village General Store, a second-hand store, provides jobs and job training to people with disabilities, offers affordable clothing and household items for sale to the community, creates opportunities to serve through volunteerism and with non-cash contributions, generates needed revenue for Opportunity Village services, and increases awareness of Village services.
