Child Health Specialty Clinics (CHSC) is a community-based public health agency that serves Iowa children and youth (from birth through 21 years of age) with special health care needs. CHSC partners with families, communities, service providers, policymakers and other state agencies including the Iowa Department of Human Services, Iowa Department of Public Health and Iowa Department of Education. CHSC administers Iowa’s Title V program for children with special health care needs including physical, developmental, behavioral or emotional issues.

DART is the public transportation system for the City of Fort Dodge. DART regularly schedules 6 routes in Fort Dodge.This is a flagging system, meaning riders stand along the route and signal to the bus they would like to be picked up. DART fares vary by the service. The fixed route price is $1.50 for adults and $1.25 for students and senior citizens. Monthly passes are sold too. Family Foundations is a family support service available to all pregnant women and families with children up to age five in Calhoun, Pocahontas and Webster Counties. This is a free service provided by the Webster County Health Department. Nurses and family support workers can come to your home or an alternate location and provide information on pregnancy, new baby, toddler growth & development, family life skills and help you find available resources based on your family’s needs.

Northwoods Living, a service of Opportunity Village, concentrates on the Fort Dodge area. Additional services, such as the Children’s Autism Center, are available through Opportunity Village.
