4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential working and learning in partnership with caring adults. 4-H youth programs provide opportunities for youth to develop skills they can use now and throughout their life. Iowa 4-H builds upon a century of experience as it fosters positive youth development that is based on the needs and strengths of youth, their families and communities.
Webster County 4-H has 14 clubs located around the county with numerous project areas. Learn more about topics ranging from aerospace, dogs, rabbits, photography, technology, horses and clothing, to name a few. 4-H’ers can attend camps, go on trips and attend conferences on the Iowa State University campus.

The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem.
Citizen’s Central offers active adults over the age of 55 a wide range of activities and entertainment, including social activities, games, parties, billiards, adult education classes, exercise equipment, health, and wellness activities (including yoga), and computer lab with Internet capabilities.
Lunch is provided five days a week through a Congregate Meal Program for a suggested donation for those 55+. Diners under age 55 are welcome–call for the cost of lunch if you are under 55 years of age. A Salad Bar is available to diners with a lunch reservation. Advance reservations are necessary.

Family Foundations is a family support service available to all pregnant women and families with children up to age five in Calhoun, Pocahontas and Webster Counties. This is a free service provided by the Webster County Health Department. Nurses and family support workers can come to your home or an alternate location and provide information on pregnancy, new baby, toddler growth & development, family life skills and help you find available resources based on your family’s needs.
The Family Nutrition Program is a free program for households with children ages 10 and under and is put on by Iowa State University Extension & Outreach – Webster County. The program provides education on nutrition and healthy eating, food budgeting, saving money at the grocery store, hands-on cooking and food tasting, physical activity and free gifts. Graduates receive certificate and color cookbook. Lessons can be provided in the home. This series also satisfies 16 continuing education credit hours to qualifying childcare providers. Available in Webster and Humboldt Counties.
SNAP offers nutrition assistance to millions of eligible, low-income individuals and families and provides economic benefits to communities. SNAP is the largest program in the domestic hunger safety net. The Food and Nutrition Service works with State agencies, nutrition educators, and neighborhood and faith-based organizations to ensure that those eligible for nutrition assistance can make informed decisions about applying for the program and can access benefits. FNS also works with State partners and the retail community to improve program administration and ensure program integrity.
