Children & Families of Iowa (CFI) is a private nonprofit organization that provides mental health therapy and group support; individual and family, in-home skills development; and support services to children and families. Services also include parenting support, adoption services, domestic violence support, and youth support groups. Programs included are Youth Employment Program, Integrated Health Home Program (enrolled members have access to care 24 hours a day, seven days a week), Pediatric Integrated Health Home case management, Mental Health Program and Behavioral Health Intervention Services.
The Experience Works Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides paid community service assignments at local public and non-profit organizations, training, referral to needed services and job search assistance. With updated skills, participants use their community service training as a springboard to permanent jobs with local employers.
Pre-K through 12 public education. Student Services providers assist students to be healthy academically, socially, emotionally and assist students in their career planning. Student Services providers include Student Services Director, Counselors, Bridges Case Management, Mental Health Therapist on staff, At-Risk Counselors and Coordinators, Nurses, Alternative School Staff and Drop Out Prevention Coordinator.
Goodwill provides both retail and mission services. Mission services in Fort Dodge include the Youth Employment Services (YES), Community Based Employment Services, and the Ticket-to-Work Program. Each program provides employment services to individuals with disabilities.
Opportunity Village, based in Clear Lake, provides and supports services to individuals with disabilities, of all ages, throughout northern Iowa. Northwoods Living, a service of Opportunity Village, concentrates on the Fort Dodge area. Additional services, such as the Children’s Autism Center, are available through Opportunity Village.
The Village General Store, a second-hand store, provides jobs and job training to people with disabilities, offers affordable clothing and household items for sale to the community, creates opportunities to serve through volunteerism and with non-cash contributions, generates needed revenue for Opportunity Village services, and increases awareness of Village services.
Youth Shelter Care of North Central Iowa provides an emergency shelter for youth as well as community mental health therapy and in-home counseling. Also provides crisis intervention for youth and families.
