Alternative Education

Children & Families of Iowa (CFI) is a private nonprofit organization that provides mental health therapy and group support; individual, family, and in-home counseling; and support services to children and families. Services also include parenting support, adoption services, community-based family team meetings, domestic violence support, and youth support groups. Programs included are Youth Employment Program, Integrated Health Home Program, Pediatric Integrated Health Home case management, and Behavioral Health Intervention Services.

Rabiner Treatment Center provides a full continuum of services for the youth they serve. Their programming, which includes residential and non-residential care, is geared to meet a wide variety of client needs. Core services include on-campus education; individual, family and group counseling; skill development; vocational training; community volunteerism and community service and restitution. Non-residential programs include an alternative school suspension center, GED, vocational training, placement for children needing a more structured school environment. Their program employs cognitive restructuring and skill development to help youth focus on identifying and changing irresponsible thinking patterns. With a comprehensive continuum of treatment services that support safety, permanency and well-being, theirĀ evidence-based cognitive/behavioral approach reinforces pro-social behaviors.
