Clothing & Household Items
The American Red Cross provides services to active duty military members and veterans and people displaced from their home due to a disaster. Training in CPR, First Aid, Swimming Lessons, Lifeguard Training and other safety courses is available.
Athletics for Education and Success (AFES) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that strives to help the youth and families of Fort Dodge and Webster County by providing hope and motivation for them. We aim to do this by any means necessary, giving the youth and parents the power to decide what they need, want and what may help them be successful. We offer our youth after-school programs, sports teams, mentoring groups, drum line groups, educational and cultural opportunities and much more. In addition to providing exceptional programming, we provide our youth with a sense of belonging and the determination to succeed.
The Bridging the Gap program provides assistance to families that are in need of home furnishings. These may include (but not limited to) couches, beds, dressers, dinning room tables and chairs, dishes, cookware and bedding. To receive services from the program you must have a referral from an in-home counselor or case worker and there MUST be children in the home.
Free clothing for anyone in need. Donations also accepted.
Goodwill provides both retail and mission services. Mission services in Fort Dodge include the Youth Employment Services (YES), Community Based Employment Services, and the Ticket-to-Work Program. Each program provides employment services to individuals with disabilities.
Kaden’s Kloset is a free clothing closet that carries clothing for all ages, and also accessories for infants and toddlers. All items are free and of good quality. Anyone can use the Kloset from any community. Kaden’s Kloset hopes you will shop, donate, and share. Kaden’s Kloset asks that all donations be new or gently used. This is ideal for families just entering into foster or adoptive care who need to stock up on clothes and needed items. This is a great “get ready for school” resource for any family. It is open to everyone, Kaden’s Kloset likes to think of it as moms helping moms!
Retail for used clothing and household items. All proceeds from the store benefit the Domestic/Sexual Assault Outreach Center (D/SAOC).
Proteus provides seasonal farm workers and others with a variety of services that improve their health, education and economic opportunities. Proteus has a food pantry and clothing closet that is open every Monday to the general public.
Faith based global organization with ministry of providing emergency assistance to the needy through social services program. Services include food pantry, emergency shelter, emergency financial assistance, food & nutrition programs, and noon meal.
The Village General Store, a second-hand store, provides jobs and job training to people with disabilities, offers affordable clothing and household items for sale to the community, creates opportunities to serve through volunteerism and with non-cash contributions, generates needed revenue for Opportunity Village services, and increases awareness of Village services.
